Clarence M. Swallows, 89, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 6, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Aug. 9 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial
Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. The Rev. Sandy
Shawhan officiated.
Mr. Swallows was born May 15, 1915 in Putnam County, the son of
Isaac and Effie Swallows.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Before retiring,
he was employed by Volunteer Electric Cooperative for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mayme Swallows; son and daughter-in-law,
James Marvin and Bernese Swallows; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Peggy Flynn
and Ray Harris; granddaughter, Leigh Swallows Peterman; step-granddaughter,
Monica Leigh; brother, Clinton Swallows; and sisters, Daisy Holt, Gertha
Abner, Bertha Dillon and Myrtle Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Ruby Parsons Swallows; stepson, Robert Ted Flynn; brothers, Haskell and
Benton Swallows; and sister, Beulah Boatman.
Pallbearers were Fred Parsons, Bud Steele, David Weismuller, Lloyd
Jackson, Hugh Goss and Don Moody.
Honorary pallbearers were VEC employees, Ordon Sevier, Ervia Hamby,
Glenn Miller, Betty Moody, Irene Weismuller, Paul Whittenburg, Lyle Williams,
Raymond Webb and Glen Blaylock.

Clifford Swallows
Feb. 16, 1918 - July 18, 2004
Clifford Lawrence Swallows, 86, of Crossville, passed away July 18,
2004. Funeral services were conducted July 20 from the chapel of Mundy
Funeral Home South Chapel at Clarkrange, with
Bro. Michael Swallows officiating. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery,
with graveside military services.
Mr. Swallows was born Feb. 16, 1918, the son of Thomas
Elmus and Laura Mae Wilson Swallows.
He was a veteran of World War II and a purple heart recipient. He was
last employed with Turner Day Handle Mill in Crossville.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald
and Wanda Swallows, Dale and Judy Swallows, Freeman
Swallows and Dwayne and Rhonda Swallows,
all of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce
and David Cook of Crossville; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Donald and
Helen Melton and Ervie Charles and Sue Melton, all of Crossville; brothers, Leamon
Swallows of Clarkrange, Lozier Swallows
of Florida, Vernon Swallows of Monterey
and Clarence Swallows of Monterey;
sisters, Winnie Bilbrey and Evelyn
Thompson, both of Monterey; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife,
Maggie Marie Petty Swallows; second wife, Hazel Pauline Turner Melton Swallows;
son, Ronald Bruce Swallows; step-grandson,
Charles Chuck Melton; brothers, Thurman Swallows
and an infant boy; and sisters, Erma Hargis, Velma Wilson and an infant
girl.

Swallows, Jeff Swallows, Jamie Lee,
Donnie Melton, Tommy Melton and Barry Melton.

Margie Willis Swallows, 80, Allensville,
Ky., died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Auburn Health Care Center in Auburn,
Ky.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Latham Funeral Home, with Mack
Craig officiating. Burial will be in Joines Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and Monday from 9 a.m. until
the hour of the service at the funeral home.
She was born July 27, 1923, in Todd County, daughter of Less and Marie
Heltsley Harrison. She was the widow of James R. Willis Sr. and Fredie
Paul Swallows.
Mrs. Swallows was a homemaker and a member of Allensville Church of
Christ.
Survivors include three sons, James R. Willis Jr., Palm Desert, Calif.,
Earl E. Willis, Morgantown, Ky., and Frank E. Willis Sr., Las Vegas; two
daughters, Joyce L. Emberton, Bowling Green, Ky., and Deborah A. Whitman,
Russellville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Effie M. Swallows, 77, of Battle Creek, died Monday, April 12, 2004,
at her home.
She was born November 14, 1926, in Sparta, Tennessee, the daughter of
James A. and Amie F. (Bumbalough) Cox.
She married Asa D. Swallows on October
25, 1943, in Battle Creek.
Effie worked for Shirt Factory in Tennessee, Michigan Carton, Kresge
Department Store and Dawn Donuts.
She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, gardening, spending time with grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of The Potters House Church.
She is survived by her husband, Asa D. Swallows; daughter, Patricia
(Jim) Lindley of Aurora, Illinois; son, Asa J. (Sharon) Swallows, Jr. of
Battle Creek; daughter, Faye (Richard) DePuy of Hudsonville, Michigan,
daughter, Linda Collige of Battle Creek; sons, Gary (Carolyn) Swallows
of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Doris (Donnie) Speck of Battle Creek; 16 grandchildren
and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at The Potter's House Church, 226 Capital Ave.,
N.E. on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held
Thursday, 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Mark A. Hopper officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be
made to The Potter's House Church. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral
Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes.

Quebeck resident and Warren County native Mary Kathleen (Kathey) Swallows,
39, died Oct. 24 at her home.
A factory worker, she was the daughter of William Dyer of Morrison and
the late Linda Faye Boyd. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey
K. Swallows; sons, Stephen J. and Dakota L. Swallows of Quebeck; sister,
Teresa M. Pelham of McMinnville; grandmother, Dola Boyd of McMinnville;
and nephew, Cody L. Bottoms of McMinnville.
Services were held Monday at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta with Fate
Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Preston Heights Cemetery.

Leonard O. Swallows

Leonard O. Swallows, 57, of Crossville, passed away Oct. 28, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Oct. 31 at Midway Baptist Church. Bro.
Dennie Moore and Bro. Glen Davenport officiated, with special music by
the Menonite Singers.
Mr. Swallows was born June 6, 1947, in Overton County, the son of Delmer
and Delsie Bilbrey Swallows.
He worked as a press operator for General Processing and was of the
Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #483. He was a
kind-hearted man who enjoyed helping people, especially his neighbors and
friends. He liked to talk with anyone who stopped by. He loved the outdoors
and all the precious time he spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Permelia "Meady" Swallows of Crossville;
sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Tonya Swallows and Stephen and June
Swallows, all of Crossville; brother, Rondal Swallows of Cookeville; sister
and brother-in-law, Wilma and Norman Evans of Cleveland; sister, Mildred
Swallows of Crossville; and grandchildren, Heath, Nicole and Kevin Swallows.
Pallbearers were Scott Webb, Jeff Webb, Glen Clark, James Richards,
Stanley Farmer and Josh Swallows.

Mary Alice Swallows
Died: 10-04-2004
Mary Alice Swallows, 87, of Sale Creek, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004,
in the Soddy Daisy Health Care Center.
She was born in Hamilton County on July 7, 1917, the daughter of the
late Jesse and Martha Alice (Thomas) Iles. She lived in Sale Creek
for many years where she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services are today, Oct. 6, 2004, at noon, in the funeral home chapel,
the Rev. Claude Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory
Gardens.
Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.
Nancy Ellen Swallows
Nancy Ellen Swallows, 96, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Sept. 15,
2004, at Beverly Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst
Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Swallows was born Sept. 9, 1908, in Warren County, Ky., to the
late James and Jeanette Basham Cockrell.
She was a homemaker and a member of North Springfield Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clinton Swallows
and her daughter, Juanita Beatrice Hallum.
Survivors include sons, Odis Swallows Sr., of Springfield and Joseph
Darrell Swallows of Portland; a daughter, Ruby Martine Hulsey of Greenbrier;
grandchildren, Odis Swallows Jr., Nancy Moffitt, Elaine West, Patricia
Carden, Lissa Stoll, John Hulsey Jr., Shawn Worsham, Kim Sliger, Kayla
Turns Swallows: 16 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Ray Ensor Swallows
Mr. Ray Ensor Swallows, 87, of the Dodson Chapel community in Overton
County, passed away at Livingston Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November
9, 2004, following a brief illness.
He was born June 15, 1917, to the late Frank and Mary (Gibbons)
Swallows. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eva
(Neal) Swallows; and his daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Donnie
Stover of the Dodson Chapel community and Sandra and Jim Elliott of
Oliver Springs. He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses,
Donita (Stover) and Don Burnett of Livingston, Caryn (Stover) and Jeff
Robichaud of Algood, Lisa (Elliott) and Kenny Powell of Clinton, and Kevin
Elliott of Oliver Springs; and his great grandchildren, Brad and Ashley
Powell and Austin Powell, all of Clinton, Hunter Burnett of Livingston,
Jordan Monger and Sierra Elliott, both of Oliver Springs, and Morgan Robichaud
of Algood.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Roy Frank; and his
sister, Eva Mae.
Ray was an active member of Dodson Chapel United Methodist Church since
1931, where he served as a trustee and Sunday School teacher for many years.
He served with the United States Army in Europe during World War II,
and was a member of VFW James T. Davis Post 5062, where he proudly served
as a member of their Honor Guard. In 1998, he was honored to participate
in a memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery for a fallen comrade,
and wore his original WWII uniform.
He was known as "Mr. Swallows" for 27 years to his students at Rickman
High School, and was named Tennessee's Biology Teacher of the Year in 1967.
He was class sponsor at the school for many years, and enjoyed accompanying
many groups of students on their senior trip to Washington, DC.
His hobbies over the years were playing guitar, spelunking, woodworking,
and carving. In the past several years, he especially enjoyed giving carved
mushrooms to friends and acquaintances. A very special activity for him
was speaking to students in schools about patriotism.
A celebration service of his life was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November
11, 2004, at Dodson Chapel United Methodist Church, with interment following
in the church cemetery. Rev. Jackie Wheeler officiated the service, and
music was provided by his former students, The Webb Sisters: Geraldine
(Webb) Garrett, Wyndoline (Webb) Farris, Betty (Webb) Owens, Marsha (Webb)
Eldridge, and Sharon (Webb) Sevier.
Pallbearers were Hunter Burnett, Sam Gibbons, Howard Anderson, Randy
Dodson, Jim Means, and Kenneth Dodson.
The Rickman High School Class of 1960 served as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dodson Chapel United Methodist
Church Building Fund, America Cancer Society, and American Heart Association.

Thomas Burr Swallows Sr., 87, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 6, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Nov. 9 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral
Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. David Rowan officiated,
with special music by Reba Deane Reed, John and Ginger Hunnicutt and Diana
Ledbetter.
Mr. Swallows was born May 10, 1917, in Putnam County, the son of Jimmy
and Eller West Swallows.
He was a boiler operator for Turner, Day & Woolworth Handle Co.
and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Castleman Swallows of
Crossville; sons, Ralph, Bobby and David Swallows of Crossville; five grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; brothers, Burton and Odell Swallows of Cookeville;
and sisters, Dorothy Dishman of Algood and Emogean Neal of Cookeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas
Burr Swallows Jr.; brothers, Ray and Carson Swallows; and sisters, Lucille
Boatman and Nola Boatman.
Pallbearers were Scotty Swallows, Terry Swallows, Bruce Simmons, Nathan
Smith, Bruce Smith and Russell Smith.

Willie D. Swallows
Funeral services for Mr. Willie D. Swallows, 81, of Livingston, were
conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2004, from the chapel of Speck
Funeral Home.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Craig Green
officiating.
Mr. Swallows died Wednesday, November 3 at Vanderbilt University Medical
Center. He was a farmer, an ATF agent, a real estate agent, former owner
of Robbins & Garrett Electric & Plumbing, a member of First United
Methodist Church in Livingston, a United States Army veteran of World War
II, and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Born March 6, 1923, in Overton County, he was the son of the lateH.C.
and Mary Ada (Webb) Swallows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in death by his wife, Mary Lillian Swallows.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Grimes of Hilham and Virginia
Moore of Memphis; four grandchildren, Kelly Grimes of Livingston, Melissa
Smith of Cookeville, Amy Hertter of Martin, and Patrick Moore of Memphis;
and two great grandchildren, Rylee Hertter of Martin and Katie-Claire Smith
of Cookeville.
Pallbearers were Pat Grimes, Don Moore, Patrick Moore, Ryan Hertter,
Mike Smith, and Kevin Fleming.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Max Garrett, Sam Gibbons, Ernest
Geesling, Charles "Chig" Parrott, Mike Swallows, Billy Dan Buford, and

Russell A. Swollows, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at his residence
at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services were held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville
at 2 p.m. with Dr. Tim Rayborn officiating.
Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Swollows was ministered to by the Believers Baptist Fellowship
Church in Hendersonville.
He was retired from Reichold Chemical Co., and was an Army veteran
of World War II.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Nina Jackson and son-in-law,
Ron; grandson, Edward Jackson; and a twin sister, Teenie Ruth Roark of
Springfield.

My father John Wesley LEE was born 3-4-1885 in Montery to Lafayette
LEE and Arrelly SWALLOWS. His father died 3-20-1886 and was buried
in Beaver Hill Cemetery in Putnam Co. I am searching for the cemetery.
My father was reared for a brief period of time by uncle Joe LEE whose
home was in LEE'S Cove TN. in Putnam Co. A sister Dora Ann LEE born 4-20-1881
maried William STORIE 9-19-00 and made her home in Montery until just before
she died in the 1980's.

Carl B. "Bunk" Swallows

Carl B. "Bunk" Swallows, 78, of Puxico died Thursday, March 2, 2006,
at his residence, Mr. Swallows was born Nov. 29, 1927, in Bloomfield. A
former resident of Bloomfield and Poplar Bluff, he moved to Puxico in 1963.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was
employed at Southwestern Bell and retired in 1986 after 35 years.
On July 23, 1955, he married Dean Renfro in Dexter. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, Dan
Swallows and Lisa Brovold, both of Winter Set,
Iowa; two nephews, Todd and Scott
Swallows; and one niece, Sally Miller.
Preceding him in death were one son, Tom Swallows;
one brother, J.R. Swallows; and his parents, Cecil
and Ann Swallows.
Visitation will be held at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Morgan-Sifford
Funeral Home in Puxico. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Puxico
City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Preferred Hospice in Dexter
or American Heart Association and Telephone Pioneers of which he was a
life member.

Delmer Swallows, 79, of Mayland, passed away Jan. 17, 2004. Funeral
services were conducted Jan. 18 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. The

Cemetery on Jan. 19.
Mr. Swallows was born Feb. 14, 1924 in Overton County, TN, to General

He was a heavy equipment operator.

SWALLOWS, JAMES R., 62, died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Riverview Village,
Clarksville, IN. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum Co., Louisville. Memorial
service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
Visitation is from noon to time of memorial Monday. His body was donated
to the U of L School of Medicine. Expressions of sympathy may be made to

Larry Dale Swallows Jr., 35, Anderson, Indiana died Dec. 26, 2005, at
his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His strength,
humor and love will enable all of those who survive to cherish his memory.
He was born Feb. 23, 1970, in Anderson, and resided in Anderson all
of his life. He was an installer for Reeder Heating and Air Conditioning.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1989.
He was a NASCAR fan, loved to camp, fish, was an avid poker player and
loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Angela (Niccum) Swallows; parents, Larry
D. Swallows Sr. and Linda (Winningham) Swallows; stepson, Justin
Emmons of Anderson; stepdaughter, Ashley Emmons of Anderson; brother, Danny
Swallows of Anderson; sister, Lisa and husband David Vice of Pendleton;
mother-in-law, Wanda Niccum of Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Tony
and Andrea Shields of Anderson; nephews,
Jeremy Vice and Brady Shields; nieces, Taylor Vice, Shelby Vice, Kayley
Swallows and Chloe Shields; two special cousins very close to his heart,
Lindy Bair and Matthew Willis, as well as a lifelong friend, Jeff Baker;
and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sarah
Ellen Swallows in November of 1993 and Anna Lee (Winningham) McCraken
in June of 1995; father-in-law, Charles Robert Niccum in July of 2005;
and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes
& Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with Brian Dwiggins officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the South Chapel.

her life. She worked for several years at the Thunderbird Bar.

Ray Swallows, 71, Barnesburg, Road, Somerset,
Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 18th, 2005 at the Veterans Administration
Medical Center, Somerset, Kentucky.
He was born March 16th, 1933 in Monterey, Tennessee, a son of the late Walter
H. Swallows and Lora Jane Hargis Swallows. He was a United States
Army Korean War Veteran, a farmer and retired after 28 years at Cumberland
Wood & Chair Factory. He was a member of the American Legion Post #38
and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, Somerset, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife; Norma Poynter Swallows, whom he married
on March 28th, 1957 in Pulaski County by Odell Sears: one daughter; Brenda
Swallows, Barnesburg, Kentucky: 4 grandchildren; Angela McClure, April
Godbey, Rodney Stevens and Bobbie Sullivan: 4 great grandchildren; Brett
Sullivan, Brianna Sullivan, Hope McClure and Trent McClure: several aunts
and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents: one son; Rayford
Swallows: one daughter; Connie Sue

Funeral services held for Robert Swallows
Robert L. Swallows, 63, well-known citizen of the sixth district of
Overton County, died at his home one mile west of Livingston, on Saturday,
March 14, after an illness of several months of heart ailment.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Hardy Swallows, four
children, Miss Ida Swallows, Mrs. Edna
Davis, Herman and Byrd Swallows, all of
Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon by the Revs. Lexie
Freeman and S. Dewey Organ, with burial in the Mt. Gilead cemetery.
Thomas B. Swallows Sr.
May 10, 1917 - Nov. 6, 2004
Thomas Burr Swallows Sr., 87, of Crossville, passed away Nov.
6, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 9 from the chapel of Bilbrey
Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. David Rowan
officiated, with special music by Reba Deane Reed, John and Ginger Hunnicutt
and Diana Ledbetter.
Mr. Swallows was born May 10, 1917, in Putnam County, the son of Jimmy
and Eller West Swallows.
He was a boiler operator for Turner, Day & Woolworth Handle Co.
and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Castleman Swallows
of Crossville; sons, Ralph,
Bobby and David Swallows of Crossville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
brothers, Burton and Odell
Swallows of Cookeville; and sisters, Dorothy
Dishman of Algood and Emogean Neal of
Cookeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas
Burr Swallows Jr.; brothers, Ray and
Carson Swallows; and sisters, Lucille
Boatman and Nola Boatman.
Pallbearers were Scotty Swallows, Terry
Swallows, Bruce Simmons, Nathan Smith, Bruce Smith and Russell Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Swallows
and Brent Swallows.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
Vernon Swallows
Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Swallows, 58, of the Union B Community
of Overton County, near Monterey, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January
28, 2005, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey.
Burial was in Campground Cemetery with Rev. Harlon Thompson officiating.
Mr. Swallows died Wednesday, January 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical
Center. He was a factory worker at FFM.
Born February 11, 1946, in Overton County, he was the son of the late
Elmus
and Laura (Wilson) Swallows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in death by two brothers, Clifford Swallows and Thurman Swallows;
two sisters, Velma Wilson and Erma Hargis; and four infant
brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sisters, Winnie Bilbrey of the Crossroads
Community and Evelyn Thompson and her husband, Harold, of the Union
B Community; three brothers, Losure Swallows of Winter Haven, FL,
Leamon Swallows and his wife, Susie, of Clarkrange, and Clarence
Swallows and his wife, Emogene, of Monterey; and a host of nieces and
nephews.

Willie Joe Swallows
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Joe Swallows, 72, of Muddy Pond, were
conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006, from the chapel of Goff Funeral
Home with Rev. David Phillips officiating.
Burial was in Muddy Pond Cemetery.
Mr. Swallows died Wednesday, July 26 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation
Center in Monterey. He was a general laborer. Born November 2, 1933,
in Muddy Pond, he was the son of the late Tilbert and Mattie (Sams)
Swallows.
Survivors include 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonzie
and Nella Dean Swallows and James
and Elza Swallows, all of Monterey; 2 sisters-in-law, Maggie
Swallows of Monterey and Liza Swallows of
Muddy Pond; and several nephews and nieces.

Woody Swallows
Canton - Woodrow Martin "Woody" Swallows, 79, of Mountain View
Apartments, Canton, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at his residence.
He was a native of Barberton, Ohio, and the son of the late Willie and
Julia Lee Swallows.
He was a self-employed painter and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs
Witness.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Margaret Phillips Swallows, he
is survived by two daughters, Gloria Jeanne Gill of West Palm Beach, Fla.,
and Juanita Sue Morris of Cooperstown, N.Y.; five sons, David Michael Swallows
of Myrtle Beach, S.C., William Eugene Swallows of Waynesville, Thomas Jay
Swallows of Encinitas, Calif., Jeffery Wayne Swallows of Jacksonville,
Fla., and Gregory Scott Swallows of Fairbanks, Alaska; 24 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren. There were six brothers and three sisters in
his family.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Clyde Kingdom
Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.

J.V. Bilbrey, 64, of Crossville, passed away April 10, 2006. Funeral
services were conducted April 12 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial
Funeral Home, with Randy Bilbrey officiating. Special music was provided
by Danny and Darlene Norris. Burial was in Midway Cemetery in Clarkrange.
Mr. Bilbrey was born Jan. 3, 1942 in Cumberland County, the son of Audrey
Irene Bilbrey and Estel Bilbrey.
He was an auto mechanic.
Survivors include his mother, Audrey Irene Bilbrey of Crossville; sons,
Raymond Bilbrey and Jeffrey Bilbrey of Crossville; brothers and sisters,
Adean Vaughn of Monterey, Gwen Pryor of Crossville, Harlon Bilbrey of Crossville,
Jeanette King of Mayland, Terry Bilbrey, Jerry Bilbrey and Brenda Swallows,
all of Crossville; and half-brothers and sister, Charles Ray, Jerry, Jimmy
and J.R. Medley, all of Crossville, and Kathy Medley of Sparta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Estel Bilbrey; and sisters,
Mayzell, Margie Louise, Grace Edith, Willene and Earnestine Bilbrey.
Pallbearers were Charles Ray Medley, J.R. Medley, Junior Pryor, Ron
Vaughn, Rodney Swallows and Bobby Swallows.
Honorary pallbearer was Trent Abston.
