Although I don't know how I think your John Ferrell (father of William
A.
Ferrell) is probably a descendant of one of the sons of John Ferrell.
He
had some sons that lived in Warren Co. TN. I would suggest researching
Warren County or perhaps Cannon County for records on Ferrells there.

Notes for BARBARA MILLER:
Family story from Bessie Ferrell d/o Will Ferrell is that Barbara was
adopted by the Miller family. Her family was full blooded Cherokee
Indians. Her entire family was killed while she hid in the bushes.
After the Millers found her she wouldn't talk for a long time. She
wouldn't tell them her name, so they named her Barbara.
