Peter Foy (1745 - 1782)
I believe that Peter FOY was the son of Thomas FOY Sr. & Rebecca POTEET,
who lived in Baltimore County MD, from before 18 January 1726 (when their
son John FOY was Christened/Baptised at St. John's [Anglican] Parish--until
after November 1748, when Thomas FOY Sr. sold their land and moved to NC.
In 1749 Thomas FOY became a licensed Inn-keeper in Craven County NC. Thomas
FOY Sr. was succeeded by his son John as a NC Inn-keeper, and another son,
Thomas FOY Jr. also was an Inn-keeper in NC. Other members of my FOY Family
are not yet convinced that Peter FOY was a son of Thomas & Rebecca,
and I am continuing to research this. However, I am fairly confident of
the accuracy of the lines up to Peter Foy & Hamital MOORE. However,
the family of Rebecca POTEET/POTEAT/PETITE/PATEET (etc.) is very well documented
in Baltimore County, MD.
