The Ministry of Thor Carden: The purpose of this web page is to aquaint people with my ministry in Cyberspace.
I am a Learning Consultant for the Self-Taught. I have a lot of experience with teaching classes and developing computer based training, and much of what I learned over the decades informs what I'm doing now. My wife and I are now retired. We no longer have the energy to take on classroom teaching, but on the internet we can still do it as we have time. If you want to learn, I will be happy to put my knowledge at your disposal.
Over a decade ago I developed a Greek course that I taught in the classroom for two years. It was also used by some homeschool families. It is available at Introduction to New Testament Greek. Over the last twenty years I have been developing a Christian Apologetics course. (See Truth in a Love Sandwich) I've taught the entire course three times now in the classroom. It is useful for a small group, but if you want to do a self-study I recommend you pick up a copy of Greg Koukl's book "Tactics" and after reading it join us in our Apologia discussion group to practice the skills he teaches in the book. (You will have to obtain a user ID from usa.life to participate.) I play the part of these skeptics so you can practice defending your faith in a non-threatening environment.
I used to have Bible discussion groups on Facebook before they threw me off. (I don't know why. All I posted were Bible questions and clean cartoons.) I still post Bible questions on the social media platform USA life. If you obtain a free ID you can join in the discussions.
I usually post a question about the Gospels every day on my timeline.
If you want to discuss the New Testament epistles, I try to post a question or two about an epistle every day at Christian Conversations
I draw the questions from the Bible courses I wrote when we were in the jail ministry which you can find at Love Bible Study. You are welcome to use any of these courses in your personal study or with your small group. You might notice a paragraph in the introduction of the courses about contributing money to our jail ministry. This no longer applies. You are free to use them without obligation.
